How to Use myBuild

A simple guide to creating and sharing your car build with the world

Step 1: Create Your Account

Getting started with myBuild is easy. First, you'll need to create an account.

  1. Click the "Get Started Free" button on the homepage
  2. Enter your email address and choose a secure password
  3. Check your email for a confirmation link and click it to verify your account
  4. Once verified, you can log in and access your dashboard

Note: You can create up to 3 car builds with a free account. All accounts are free and require no credit card.

Step 2: Create Your First Build

Once you're logged in, you'll see your dashboard. From here, you can create a new car build.

  1. Click the "Create New Car" button on your dashboard
  2. Fill in your car's basic information:
    • Make: The manufacturer (e.g., Toyota, Ford, BMW)
    • Model: The specific model (e.g., Supra, Mustang, M3)
    • Year: The year your car was manufactured
    • Nickname: A fun name for your build (optional but recommended)
    • Description: Tell the story of your build (optional)
  3. Click "Save" to create your build

Step 3: Upload Photos

Showcase your build with up to 3 high-quality photos. These photos will be displayed on your public build page.

  1. In the build editor, scroll to the "Photos" section
  2. Click the "Upload Image" button
  3. Select an image file from your device (JPG, PNG, or WebP formats are supported)
  4. Wait for the upload to complete - you'll see a preview of your image
  5. Repeat to add up to 3 photos total
  6. You can delete any photo by clicking the delete button on the image preview

Tip: Use high-quality, well-lit photos for the best results. Consider taking photos from different angles to showcase your build.

Step 4: List Your Modifications

Organize your modifications by category to make your build easy to browse. You can add unlimited modifications across different categories.

  1. Scroll to the "Modifications" section in the build editor
  2. Select a category from the dropdown (e.g., Engine, Suspension, Exterior, Interior, Wheels, etc.)
  3. Click "Add Mod" to create a new modification
  4. Fill in the modification details:
    • Title: Name of the modification (e.g., "Cold Air Intake")
    • Brand: The manufacturer or brand name (optional)
    • Details: Additional information about the mod (optional)
    • Product URL: Link to where others can buy this part (optional)
  5. Click "Save" to add the modification
  6. Repeat to add more modifications in the same or different categories

Tip: Group similar modifications together in the same category. This makes your build page easier to navigate and more professional looking.

Step 5: Publish and Share Your Build

Once you're happy with your build, you can publish it and share it with the world.

  1. Make sure all your information is correct and your photos are uploaded
  2. Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the form
  3. Go back to your dashboard
  4. Find your build in the list and click "View Public"
  5. Copy the URL from your browser's address bar
  6. Share this link anywhere - Instagram, forums, social media, or with friends!

Note: Your build is only visible to others when you click "View Public". The link is permanent and won't change, so you can bookmark it or share it anytime.

Tips & Best Practices

Use High-Quality Photos

Good lighting and clear photos make your build stand out. Take photos from multiple angles to showcase different aspects of your car.

Be Descriptive

Add details to your modifications. Include brand names, part numbers, or specifications to help others understand what you've done.

Link to Products

If you're happy with a part, add a product URL so others can find and purchase the same item. This helps the community!

Organize by Category

Group similar modifications together. This makes your build page easier to browse and looks more professional.

Update Regularly

You can edit your build anytime. Add new modifications, update photos, or change details as your build evolves.

You can create up to 3 car builds with a free account. Each build can have up to 3 photos and unlimited modifications.

Can I edit my build after publishing?

Yes! You can edit your build at any time. Just go to your dashboard, click "Edit" on the build you want to modify, make your changes, and save. The public link will always show your latest version.

Can I delete my build?

Yes, you can delete any build from your dashboard. Click the "Delete" button and confirm. This action cannot be undone, so make sure you really want to delete it.

Who can see my build?

Your build is only visible to others when you click "View Public" and share the link. The build page is not listed publicly or searchable - only people with the direct link can view it.

What image formats are supported?

We support JPG, PNG, and WebP image formats. For best results, use high-quality images that are well-lit and clear.

Can I change my build's public URL?

No, the public URL is permanent and based on your build's unique ID. This ensures that links you share will always work, even if you change your car's nickname or other details.
